Nursing Home Employee Posts Nude Snapchat of 93-Year-Old Resident

A former employee of a nursing home has now been charged with a felony after posting a video of a 93-year-old resident to Snapchat wearing only a bra. This new case follows a December ProPublica and Washington Post report that reported on 35 incidents of employees of nursing homes posting inappropriate photos or videos of residents on social media. The 35 cases are just the ones that have made the news or have gone to court. There certainly could be more instances of nursing home employees posting photos of residents out there, right?

Not only is taking photos or videos of an elderly resident nude or in compromising position, degrading and taking away that resident’s dignity but it also violates privacy, rights, HIPAA and resident’s rights.
