MS. WENDY YORK: Catastrophic injuries are injuries that are more complex, more severe than in minor injury. An example of a catastrophic injury would be an amputation of a leg, severe burns over the body, disfigurement, paralysis, being paralyzed from the waist or the neck down. That's an example of a catastrophic injury. And a catastrophic injury requires much more attention to the detail for the attorney to look forward into what kind of medical bills, what kind of medical expenses and what kind of care is our client going to need into the future. To plan for that. To have a caregiver, an expert come in, project what kind of care is this person going to need for the rest of their life to be comfortable, to insure that that person is made whole.
