MS. WENDY YORK: RSD stands for Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. And what RSD is, is a neurological condition that occurs after somebody has sustained a traumatic injury, or has undergone a severe injury. The symptoms of RSD include swelling of your arms or limbs, redness, discoloration, but probably what my clients complain about most when they suffer RSD, intense pain such that it hurts for you—for them to touch their skin. Touch their arms or their legs. Also some [break in audio] a very intense heating—heat where they feel like they're sweating and perspiring a lot. And RSD requires a lot of medical management. So what our office does is we get folks to the appropriate professionals, to the appropriate experts who can manage this intense pain. And it's really important when somebody is suffering RSD to get it diagnosed right away, because getting treatment immediately is important in it—in recovering.
